Job Description - Cloud and Network Engineer

Full Time Direct Hire opportunity for a highly motivated Cloud and Network Engineer responsible for migrating critical systems from on-prem to the cloud. This role will deploy modern cloud technologies, strengthen cloud security, and help build a secure, scalable, and high performing cloud environment.

The Cloud and Network Engineer will oversee the operation, maintenance, security, and procedures of the organization's global computer and network systems (Cloud based and on-prem).

Key Responsibilities

AWS Cloud & Network Infrastructure

  • Cloud Operations & Migration: Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure while leading the migration of key legacy systems from on-premise environments.
  • Network Architecture: Manage AWS networking components including VPCs, subnets, transit gateways, load balancers, and VPNs
  • Hybrid Connectivity: Oversee seamless hybrid cloud connectivity between AWS cloud assets and on-premises environments
  • Roadmap & Strategy: Develop and maintain the global network architecture roadmap, evaluating new technologies that align with long-term business goals
Security, Compliance & Operations

  • Security Enforcement: Implement robust network security controls, including security groups, firewalls, WAFs, intrusion prevention systems, antivirus, antispam, and patch management.
  • Systems & Domain Management: Administer domain functions, server infrastructure, workstations, telecommunications, and end-user rights while ensuring strict regulatory compliance.
  • Disaster Recovery & Continuity: Manage business continuity planning, disaster recovery procedures, backup operations, and system stability
  • Vendor & Asset Management: Handle vendor relationships, license agreements, and hardware/software procurement negotiations

Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in cloud-based server and network system administration.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent practical work experience and industry certifications)
Certifications
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (Required).
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking (Preferred)
Technical & Operational Skills
  • Deep expertise in AWS networking (VPCs, Transit Gateways, Load Balancers, WAFs, VPNs) and hybrid cloud architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of network security protocols, firewall management, and infrastructure hardening.
  • Excellent documentation skills and the ability to articulate technical strategy to executive leadership.
  • Ability to work flexibly outside standard business hours or on weekends when required for maintenance or system updates.
  • Willingness to report onsite to our Princeton, NJ office on a hybrid schedule (1 day per week or as needed)
