JOB SUMMARY: 

This position is responsible for assisting residents and staff with minimal tasks such as: Cleaning of Residents rooms, Transporting to and from daily activities and visits. These individuals are able to respond to call lights, but must refrain from providing personal care or transferring of Residents. 

The Helping Hand works under the supervision of the Charge Nurse/ Nursing Administration. The Helping Hand must be pleasant in voice and manner and neat in appearance. This employee should be dependable and reliable. Our facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and must be fully staffed.

DUTIES (NOT LIMITED TO):

1. Assist with passing ice & water to individual Residents rooms.
2. Assist with the Daily making and cleaning of Resident Beds
3. Stocking Supplies in Resident Rooms & on the hall.
4. Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills
5. Exercise knowledge of correct infection control procedures, including good hand washing skills.
6. Understand resident’s rights.
7. Recognize change in a resident and report these changes to the charge nurse.
8. Report abuse, neglect and misappropriation of resident property to the appropriate personnel.
9. Keep all resident information confidential.
10. Attends annual in-service meetings.
11. Transportation of residents to and from daily activities & visits.
12. Answering call lights and respond appropriately 
13. Other duties as assigned by nursing administration 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. 18 years of age or older
2. May be required to attain a Feeding Assistant Certification 
3. Ability to speak, read, and write functional EnglisH
