CNC Lathe Machinist
Euclid, Ohio | $22–$27/hour + Shift Differential| Benefits Starting Day One
Precision Machining Takes More Than Pushing a Button.
You know when a setup is right. You know when a cut doesn’t sound right. And you know that a few thousandths can be the difference between a finished part and scrap.
Elmet Technologies is hiring a CNC Lathe Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Euclid, Ohio. In this role, you’ll set up and operate CNC equipment to machine precision components from specialized materials. You’ll work from blueprints and technical specifications, prepare tooling, set up fixtures and workpieces, machine first articles, make offsets and adjustments, and inspect your work to make sure every part meets requirements.
The underlying role requires hands-on CNC setup and operation across machining functions including turning, cutting, drilling, reaming, and boring. This is an experienced machining position for someone who understands the entire process—not just how to start the machine.
What’s In It for You
Your hourly wage is just the beginning. Elmet offers competitive pay, bonuses, benefits, and opportunities to grow.
What You’ll Do
As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you’ll be responsible for taking work from setup through machining and inspection. You’ll:
The source role specifically gives the machinist responsibility for tooling and fixture setup, first-article machining, tool changes, offsets, minor program adjustments, and responding to machine or programming problems.
You Could Be a Great Fit!
This isn’t an entry-level machine operator role. We’re looking for someone who already has a strong CNC machining foundation.
You could be a great fit if you:
The existing job description specifies five to seven years of CNC machining experience and requires competency in blueprint interpretation, tolerances, precision measurement, and machine operation and maintenance.
Additional Tools in Your Toolbox
Experience with any of the following can help you hit the ground running:
Experience with FANUC, HAAS, and OKUMA controls and CAD/CAM software is preferred in the underlying role.
What Success Looks Like
Successful CNC Lathe Machinists:
Precision Is Part of the Job
In CNC machining, small differences matter. You’ll work with complex prints, defined tolerances, precision measuring equipment, tooling, fixtures, and machine controls to make sure each part meets its requirements.
The role requires proficiency with equipment including micrometers, dial calipers, dial indicators, and optical comparators. That means knowing more than how to operate a machine. You need to understand what it’s doing, recognize when something has changed, and know what adjustment needs to be made.
Build Your Machining Skills
At Elmet, you’ll machine high-performance materials in an environment where precision and technical skill matter. This role gives you the opportunity to strengthen your experience across CNC turning, machine setup, tooling, precision measurement, first-article inspection, troubleshooting, and advanced materials manufacturing.
Elmet also offers tuition assistance and internal growth opportunities to help you continue developing your technical skills and career.

Elmet Technologies is a U.S.-based manufacturer of precision-engineered products serving demanding industries including aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and energy. At our Euclid facility, machinists transform specialized materials into precision components where quality and consistency matter.
