We are hiring a skilled CNC Programmer / Machinist for a direct-hire opportunity with a manufacturing facility in Leominster, MA. This role is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating HAAS CNC milling and/or turning machines, as well as supporting manual machining operations to produce and refurbish precision components. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on machining experience, can work independently, and ensures parts meet tight tolerances, quality standards, and production timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and program HAAS CNC milling and/or turning machines
Create, edit, load, and troubleshoot CNC programs using G-code and HAAS controls
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, CAD models, and technical specifications
Select tooling, fixtures, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters for optimal production
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools
Operate manual machining equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and related tools
Ensure parts meet dimensional accuracy, quality requirements, and production schedules
Track work orders, production counts, and communicate progress to management
Maintain safe machine operation and follow all shop safety protocols
Cross-train in related machining and assembly functions as needed
Required Qualifications
5+ years of CNC machining experience in a production or job shop environment
Hands-on experience programming and operating HAAS CNC machines
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models
Experience creating and modifying CNC programs using G-code
Experience with manual machining (mills, lathes, grinders, drill press, etc.)
Skilled in selecting tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters
Proficient with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
High school diploma or GED preferred
Preferred Experience
Background in precision manufacturing (aerospace, medical device, automotive, or industrial machining)
Experience with first-piece inspection and quality verification processes
