CNC Machinist Programmer / Setup

Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a manufacturing team in Leominster. This role involves operating and programming CNC machines to produce and refurbish precision parts while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically skilled, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machines to produce custom precision parts
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
• Develop and maintain production schedules to support on-time delivery
• Inspect finished components to ensure accuracy, quality, and tolerance compliance
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed
• Track and document work order progress, including production quantities
• Operate various shop equipment across multiple stages of manufacturing
• Follow all safety guidelines and maintain proper machine guarding procedures
• Collaborate with team members and communicate production needs to management
• Cross-train in machining and assembly functions as required

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and tooling
• Experience in precision manufacturing or production machining

Preferred Skills

• CNC programming experience
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Experience in a multi-machine or high-volume production setting
