CNC Steel Processing Operator

Professional Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Steel Processing Operator to support the fabrication of structural steel components in a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for operating CNC processing equipment, verifying material accuracy, and ensuring quality production while maintaining a safe and organized workspace. The ideal candidate has experience with structural steel processing equipment, overhead cranes, and blueprint interpretation.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC steel processing equipment to produce structural steel components.
- Select appropriate machine settings to ensure efficient and accurate production.
- Verify material type, dimensions, and stock size before processing.
- Measure materials to confirm compliance with production specifications.
- Mark parts and transfer required production information onto materials.
- Safely operate overhead cranes and material transfer systems to move steel throughout the facility.
- Maintain accurate production records and material usage documentation.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and assist with troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience operating a CNC plasma table or performing CNC sawing, drilling, or cutting operations.
- Experience with one or more of the following equipment:
- Kinetic Plasma Table
- Peddinghaus Saw/Drill Line
- Peddinghaus Angle Master
- Ficep Beamline
- Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and material transfer/conveyor systems.
- Experience with detailed part marking.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to read a tape measure to within 1/16 inch.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in hot and cold industrial environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, symbols, and fabrication notes.
- Experience using Tekla PowerFab.
- Previous experience in structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
