Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (R), Associates/Bachelor’s Degree in Supervision, Management or Related Field (P)
Experience: Degreed Candidates: 2-4 years of Management or Supervisory Experience (R); Non-degreed Candidates: 4-8 years of Management or Supervisory Experience (R).
Areas of Knowledge: Safety, Health, & Environmental (R), Labor Relations (R), Manufacturing Processing (R), Business Analysis (P), Specification Interpretation (P), Mathematics (R), Basic Metallurgy (P), 5S (P), Six Sigma/Green Belt Training (P)

Role Responsibilities:
Effectively communicate, adhere to, prepare and ensure compliance with company policies/procedures, training, incident reporting (i.e. near misses, spills), Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s), Comprehensive Position Descriptions (CPD’s), Lockout/Tagout/Try, Confined Space Entry, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Environmental (including waste disposal and recycling of appropriate materials).
Monitor CSM Operations to ensure that Quality product is being produced at all times. Troubleshoot and detect the source(s) of defective products and take appropriate action to correct the issues (i.e. procedural, equipment).
Effectively monitor and ensure compliance with Plant Rules of Conduct, requirements of the CBA, Corrective Rehabilitation Process, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Overtime, Pay, Employee Absenteeism and handle/address disciplinary situations.
Revise and Develop policies/procedures that affect CSM operations and direct employee accountability/development to ensure departmental functionality.
Maximize Production by effectively supervising and directing the workforce to process material/product in accordance with the workload, while considering the companies overtime guidelines and delivery goal.
Conduct daily toolbox talks, monthly safety inspections and to communicate all findings and issues to management in a timely manner. Initiate appropriate actions to address any deficiencies.
Assist Production Control/Inspection/Mfg. Eng./Quality with quality related issues or questions and when necessary, interpret/determine quality requirements for order.
Communicate issues concerning 5S Projects and/or daily activities, to management on a regular basis.
Thoroughly review, coordinate and complete CSM transfers to ensure correct and proper processing of materials.
Review Product Reviews specific to the CSM Department and initiate the appropriate actions to correct root cause issues to ultimately reduce scrap and rework costs, when necessary.
Assist with Lean Six Sigma projects initiated within the CSM to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost.
