We are seeking a Collections Representative who brings professionalism, persistence, and compassion to every member interaction. In this vital role, you’ll help protect the credit union’s financial health while supporting members with respect and fairness.

The Collections Representative plays a critical role in maintaining the quality of our loan portfolio and upholding our commitment to members. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
(This role’s core responsibilities are fundamental to success and must be performed with accuracy and consistency.)
Proactively contact members regarding delinquent loans, using established collection strategies and timelines
Clearly explain account status, payment options, and potential consequences in a professional and respectful manner
Negotiate and process payment arrangements in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements
Accurately document all member contacts, actions taken, and outcomes in the system of record
Monitor delinquent accounts and take appropriate next steps, including follow‑ups and escalation when necessary
Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations related to collections
Work closely with internal departments to resolve account issues and maintain data accuracy
Maintain confidentiality of member and organizational information at all times
Meet established performance standards while balancing service quality and compliance
What We’re Looking For
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to handle difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy
High attention to detail and consistent follow‑through
Ability to work independently while adhering to structured procedures
Experience in collections, financial services, or a related field is strongly preferred
Working knowledge of lending and collections regulations is a plus
