Commercial Banker, Vice President

As a Commercial Banker, your primary responsibility will be new client acquisition and maintaining, deepening, and growing a portfolio of relationships. You will work both independently and collaboratively to introduce JPMorgan Chase’s comprehensive solutions to clients and grow and retain profitable relationships.

This role may be aligned to either:

• Emerging Middle Market Banking (EMM): generally supports companies with annual revenues of ＄20 million to ＄100 million, or
• Mid-Corporate Banking (Mid-Corp): typically supports companies with annual revenues of ＄100 million to ＄2 billion.

Final segment alignment will be determined based on candidate experience and business needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Acquire new clients through disciplined prospecting, market coverage, and relationship development.
• Maintain, deepen, and grow a portfolio of relationships; serve as a trusted advisor to CEOs, CFOs, owners, and senior leadership teams.
• Deliver coordinated, solutions-oriented coverage across Commercial Banking capabilities (e.g., credit, deposits, treasury services, and other banking solutions), partnering with internal product and coverage teams.
• Grow and retain profitable relationships within the assigned target market segment (EMM or Mid-Corp).
• Act as a connector across internal partners to drive execution and an integrated client experience; where applicable, interface closely with the Mid-Cap Investment Banking team and Financial Sponsors partners/portfolio companies.
• Champion a culture of innovation and a customer-centric mindset.
• Stay current on industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and/or strategic partnerships.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency with existing technical infrastructure through automation while embracing innovative opportunities offered by new technologies.
• Operate with strong risk discipline and sound judgment, partnering effectively with senior business stakeholders and control functions.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills

• 5+ years of lending or credit support–related experience with a focus on business relationships.
• Understanding of Commercial Banking products and services.
• Methodical approach to market activities and prospecting; proven client relationship skills and ability to engage with CEOs and CFOs.
• Demonstrated experience meeting or exceeding sales goals.
• Strong collaboration skills with internal partners and resources.
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and build partnerships with senior business and control partners.
• Deep local connections and market knowledge.

• Bachelor’s degree and formal credit training preferred.
• Sales management and business development skills; proficiency building and maintaining positive client relationships.
• Strong creative solutioning and problem-solving abilities; flexible to changing business priorities and able to multitask.
• Excellent business judgment, strategic thinking, self-directed, proactive, and creative.
• Corporate finance and transaction execution experience; experience with Financial Sponsors, Direct Lending, and Capital Markets Solutions.
