Job Description - Commercial Door & Gate Service Manager

Overview

Sacs Door & Gate Corp is hiring a Field Installation Manager to oversee and support high-volume commercial door and gate service operations across the Greater Sacramento area. This hands-on field leadership role focuses on troubleshooting, estimating, scheduling, and coordinating service and installation crews.

This is a newly created position designed to improve field efficiency and support leadership. It is ideal for an experienced commercial door service professional who can manage multiple active jobs, crews, and customer needs in real time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily field operations across 10–20 active service jobs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve commercial door and gate issues on-site and remotely
  • Prepare service estimates, scope work, and define material requirements
  • Schedule and coordinate 1–2 person installation/service crews
  • Source parts, materials, and equipment for repairs and installations
  • Ensure timely job completion within scope, budget, and quality standards
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to maintain workflow
  • Support compliance with ADA requirements, fire codes, and safety standards
  • Partner with leadership during a structured 6-month onboarding period

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on commercial door and gate service experience (not residential)
  • Strong background in troubleshooting, repair, and field diagnostics
  • Experience with multiple systems, such as:
    • Automatic doors (e.g., SIG or equivalent)
    • Hollow metal and storefront doors
    • Overhead/rolling doors
    • Dock equipment
    • Gate operators and access systems
  • Proven ability to run service estimates and manage job scopes
  • Experience coordinating small crews and managing multiple active jobs
  • Strong communication and organizational skills in a fast-paced field environment

Preferred Experience

  • Prior supervisory or field leadership experience
  • End-to-end estimating and quoting responsibility
  • Experience sourcing parts/vendors independently
  • Familiarity with ADA, fire-rated doors, and safety compliance standards
  • Background in high-volume service environments (commercial HVAC, facilities, industrial service, etc.)
  • Experience with companies such as Vortex, R&S, or Industrial Door Co.

  • Full-time field-based role with high daily activity
  • Structured 6-month training and integration period
  • Occasional after-hours phone support (limited weekend needs)
