Job Description - Commercial Electrical Estimator = commercial construction

Commercial Electrical Estimator | Milwaukee, Wisconsin | $80,000–$110,000/year + yearly discretionary bonuses

If you know how to turn electrical drawings into accurate, competitive bids, this is an opportunity to take real ownership of the estimating process.

You’ll work on commercial construction projects where your ability to understand scope, anticipate installation challenges, and build practical estimates can directly influence whether projects are won and executed successfully.

You’ll join a team with a century of innovation behind it, where technology, continuous improvement, and smarter ways of working are encouraged. The company also provides 100% paid health benefits and a 3% 401(k) contribution.

What you’ll do:
• Prepare detailed electrical estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted work
• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to understand project scope
• Perform electrical take-offs using Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar tools
• Apply NEC requirements when developing estimates
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to clarify scope and costs
• Review subcontractor bids and vendor quotes
• Maintain estimates, proposals, pricing data, and supporting documentation
• Follow up with customers on estimates
• Build relationships with general contractors, developers, and end users
• Improve estimating procedures, tools, and technology
• Help advance the department’s use of AI and other emerging technologies
• Develop toward becoming a subject matter expert and taking ownership of the estimating function

What you bring:
• 3–7 years of electrical estimating experience in commercial construction
• Strong ability to read electrical drawings and specifications
• Strong working knowledge of electrical systems and NEC requirements
• Proficiency with Accubid and Bluebeam or similar estimating and plan review software
• Ability to produce accurate and competitive estimates independently
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines
• Technology-forward mindset and willingness to adopt new tools

Journeyman or Master Electrician licensing is preferred but not required. Hands-on electrical field experience is also strongly preferred, particularly Journeyman-level experience that transitioned into estimating.

If you’re an estimator who understands not only what belongs in a bid but also how the work will actually be built, this is a chance to take your estimating career to the next level.
