Job Description - Commercial Roof Crew Members (Journeymen level)
JR & Co., Inc. is looking for Traveling Crew Members (FT) to immediately join our growing team. Are you hard working and have basic knowledge and experience in roofing? What would I be doing?
Safely set up, maintain, and clean job sites in compliance with OSHA and company standards
Measure, cut, and install roofing and sheet metal systems according to specifications and manufacturer requirements
Perform skilled installation work independently with minimal supervision
Install roofing, flashing, trim, standing seam panels, wall and soffit panels, parapet coping, fascia, and related components
Read and follow drawings, layouts, and job instructions to ensure quality workmanship
Identify installation or material issues and communicate solutions to supervision
Troubleshoot and correct roofing and sheet metal installation deficiencies
Maintain productivity, jobsite organization, and quality standards throughout the project
Properly manage tools, equipment, and materials
Proactively model safe work practices and report safety concerns immediately
Communicate professionally with supervisors, team members, customers, and other trades
Assist and mentor less experienced crew members as needed
Adhere to all company policies, jobsite rules, and standards of conduct
Represent the company professionally and uphold company values at all time
What do I need?
3+ years of hands-on experience in construction, roofing, and/or sheet metal work (journeyman‑level preferred)
Demonstrated ability to perform skilled tasks with limited supervision
OSHA 10‑Hour certification (minimum) or ability to obtain promptly
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and specifications
Dependable, safety‑focused, and team‑oriented work ethic
What is it like?
Elevated work (work on rooftops, heights)
Outdoors (in all types of weather)
Overtime, weekends may be required
Frequent bending, kneeling, walking, climbing, carrying and lifting (50lbs or greater)
