Commercial Roofing Service Helper Summary

As a Commercial Roofing Service Helper, you will assist our experienced roofing service technicians with investigating, locating, maintaining, and repairing commercial roofing systems. This is a hands-on position where you will learn the skills and techniques needed to work with a variety of commercial roofing materials and applications.

You will assist with roofing projects from start to finish while maintaining a high level of safety, craftsmanship, and professionalism.

Commercial Roofing Service Helper Responsibilities

• Assist Service Technicians with commercial roof repairs, maintenance, and leak investigations.
• Assist with the removal and installation of various roofing systems, including BUR, Modified Bitumen, TPO, EPDM, PVC, tile, shingles, and low-slope metal.
• Load, unload, carry, and organize roofing materials, tools, and equipment.
• Prepare work areas and job sites for roofing repairs and installations.
• Follow directions from Service Technicians, supervisors, and crew members.
• Perform work in accordance with job specifications and company safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site.
• Assist with setting up ladders, safety equipment, tools, and materials.
• Maintain professional interaction with customers, supervisors, and coworkers.
• Complete required paperwork and assist with other duties as assigned.
• Learn and develop commercial roofing skills through on-the-job training.

Commercial Roofing Service Helper Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous roofing, construction, or general labor experience is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn commercial roofing skills and techniques.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds regularly.
• Must be comfortable working at varying heights and in a variety of weather conditions.
• Ability to communicate well with clients, supervisors, and coworkers.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
• Initiative, integrity, and adaptability.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be willing to learn and follow all safety procedures.
• Technology savvy is a plus.

Working Conditions

Physical Surroundings: Field environment with exposure to heights, noise, and varying temperatures and weather conditions.

Physical Effort: Extensive standing, walking, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and lifting. Frequent lifting of materials and equipment not to exceed 50 pounds.

Travel: Local travel, generally up to 1 hour away.
