The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The hiring range for this position is $90,000.00 - $100,000.00/year, based on experience and education.

The Denver Clerk & Recorder’s office is located at 200 W. 14th Ave., immediately south of the City & County Building. Office hours are typically 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Dependent on business needs, some roles have remote work and flexible schedule options with manager approval.
The Denver Clerk & Recorder (DCR) is seeking to hire a Communications & Community Engagement Specialist to develop and execute strategic communications and community outreach initiatives that advance the agency's mission. This role ensures consistent and values-aligned messaging and leverages data-informed strategies to expand community reach. The Specialist cultivates trust-based relationships with advisory board members, community partners, media representatives, and key stakeholders — delivering transparent, equity-centered public messaging to advance the agency’s work. Central to this role is the design and implementation of culturally responsive civic education programming and inclusive outreach strategies that elevate participation among historically underrepresented communities. The Specialist also oversees large-scale civic events from conception to execution and continuously strengthens program impact and community engagement.
We are looking for positive, energetic, creative, and solutions-oriented individual who is deeply committed to equity and community empowerment — and who thrive when working across multiple projects while continuously growing in each area of responsibility. The ideal candidates bring experience in strategic communications, partnership development, and community engagement, with a demonstrated ability to produce compelling community-centered messaging. Candidates must also possess genuine passion for building inclusive civic spaces and meaningful connections with diverse communities.
