General Responsibilities

  1. Provide home visiting services to families in designated areas.
  2. Maintain open, friendly, and cooperative relationships with families, promoting parent-child bonding.
  3. Adhere to safe work practices, agency policies, and regulations.
  4. Keep Doula Supervisor informed and assist with family coordination of care.
  5. Recruit and complete referrals for Doula program and Early Head Start programs.
  6. Serve as a positive role model and build trusting relationships with parents and health care providers.
  7. Provide direct services to prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, and parenting mothers.
  8. Organize and coordinate prenatal groups and support clients through labor and delivery.
  9. Maintain post-partum contact, support breastfeeding, and infant care.
  10. Make appropriate referrals, provide community outreach, and advocate for participant families.
  11. Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree in human services, early childhood education, social work, health-related field, or LPN credentials.
  2. Minimum of 18 hours of coursework in early childhood education, psychology, social work, health, and/or child development.
  3. Preferably 1 year of experience working with pregnant teens/women, parenting teens, and low-income families.
  4. Experience in home visiting and prevention services for the 0-3 age population.
  5. Certification and training in First Aid, CPR, Doula certification, and Infant/Toddler Development.
  6. Knowledge of prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, maternal-infant health, and child abuse dynamics.
  7. Personal vehicle for transportation; periodic weekend recruitment activities.
  8. Ability to work effectively with diverse cultures, family systems, and social backgrounds.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Teams).
  10. Pass background clearance, physical, and TB test; valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of liability insurance.
