Compensation & Total Rewards Lead | US & Canada Focus (Hybrid)

Our insurance industry client is seeking an experienced Compensation & Total Rewards Lead (Contract) to lead a comprehensive market benchmarking and internal compensation review, primarily across the United States and Canada. This is a high-impact role focused on ensuring compensation structures are competitive, equitable, and aligned with business strategy, with a strong emphasis on actuarial career paths and credential progression (ASA/FSA).

Responsibilities

• Lead market benchmarking across Life, P&C, and Health actuarial consulting (salary, bonus, total rewards)
• Analyze internal compensation data to assess equity, progression, compression, and outliers
• Develop structured salary ranges and compensation frameworks by role, level, and actuarial credential progression
• Evaluate total rewards programs (benefits, incentives, exam support) and recommend enhancements
• Deliver clear outputs (compensation bands, guidelines, dashboards) and present findings to senior stakeholders

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in compensation, total rewards, HR analytics, or finance
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, modeling, large datasets) and strong PowerPoint capabilities
• Experience with compensation surveys and benchmarking data
• Background in insurance, actuarial, consulting, or professional services preferred
• Familiarity with actuarial credentials (ASA, FSA, exam progression) is a strong plus
