Job Summary: The Compliance Specialist is responsible for promoting clinical and operational excellence by ensuring compliance with federal, state, payer, accreditation, and company standards across ABA therapy services. This position conducts audits, monitors quality indicators, identifies compliance risks, and partners with clinical and operational leaders to implement corrective actions and continuous quality improvement initiatives. The specialist helps ensure that documentation, billing, credentialing, and service delivery meet regulatory requirements while supporting a culture of accountability, ethical practice, and exceptional client care. This is a non-exempt salary position.


Requirements

Qualifications/Educational Requirements:

  1. Certification: Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of direct experience working in an ABA clinical setting.

3. Technical Skills: Proficient with practice management software, electronic health records (EHR), and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

4. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in reviewing clinical paperwork and data tracking.

5. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with clinical staff and leadership.

Responsibilities/essential functions: The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

  1. Audit Assistance: Assist the VP of Quality & Compliance with preparing for and executing internal clinical and operational audits.

2. Record Review: Review client clinical notes, behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and RBT session logs for administrative compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines.

3. Administrative Support: Maintain compliance tracking logs, organize digital and physical audit documentation, and support correspondence for the quality department.

4. Corrective Action Tracking: Help track and follow up on corrective action plans resulting from internal or external reviews.

5. Additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Work Environment: This position is initially on-site. Employees who demonstrate consistent productivity, reliability, and the ability to work independently may be considered for a hybrid schedule after the introductory period, based on performance and business needs. Approved hybrid employees are expected to work on-site at least three (3) days per week, unless otherwise determined by the supervisor.
