Construction and Maintenance Technician I
Location: Orrville/Athens, OH
Your role in our success:
The Construction and Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the safe operation, installation, and maintenance of company system infrastructure and facilities, as well as emergency response within the service territory.
What you'll be doing:
Assists with operation and maintenance of gas pipelines and facilities
Maintains company equipment, facilities, and grounds (operations centers, M&R, City Gate, compressor stations, etc.)
Performs pipeline maintenance (leak repairs, cathodic protection, clearing rights of way, valve maintenance)
Operates equipment (backhoes, excavators, trenchers) with guidance and maintains daily records
Performs light maintenance on facilities/equipment
Assists with peak shaving processes as needed
Where you'll be working:
Primarily outdoor/field work
Weekend and on-call rotation required
Exposure to noise, weather, gas, electricity
Who you are:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Entry-level mechanical/industrial (trade school or tools experience)
License: Valid driver’s license + ability to obtain CDL within 18 months
Strong focus on safety
General knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems and heavy equipment
Basic computer skills (MS Office) and communication skills
Ability to wear PPE (respirator, fall protection, etc.)
