About the role
We are looking for a Construction Coordinator to support the safe and efficient delivery of underground and surface construction projects. This role plays a critical part in coordinating project activities across contractors, project teams, and site operations to ensure work is well planned, compliant, and executed safely and on schedule.
Reporting to the Superintendent, Construction, working a 5/4/3 dayshift only rotating schedule, you will be responsible for:
Coordinating and overseeing day-to-day construction activities across underground and surface projects
Integrating project work with site operations to ensure safe, efficient execution
Managing and overseeing contractor performance and work scope
Ensuring compliance with permitting, safety, and site standards
Supporting quality assurance and project documentation processes
Coordinating pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
Aligning multiple work fronts between contractors and operational teams
Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate daily reports and project records
About you
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Proven experience in underground mining and construction environments
Proven track record supervising or leading teams and contractors
Strong capability in planning, coordinating, and executing construction activities
Demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional teams and operational interfaces
Knowledge of critical risk management and safety systems
Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience managing project documentation and schedules
This role is open to candidates who are legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter, and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum, and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903 and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
