Commercial Construction Project Manager
Central Coast, California | Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay: $120,000 to $150,000 per year, plus performance-based bonus

About the role

A well-established general contractor and construction management firm on California's Central Coast is hiring an experienced Project Manager to lead complex commercial, educational, municipal, and industrial builds from concept through close-out. 

You will be the main point of contact for owners, designers, and contractors, and you will be accountable for cost, schedule, quality, and contract administration across one or more large projects. This suits someone who builds trust with clients, holds a high standard, and enjoys developing the people around them.

What you'll do

• Manage project budgets and cash flow, review cost estimates, and oversee contractor billing and change orders
• Build and maintain project schedules in scheduling software, catch slippage early, and prepare recovery plans when work falls behind
• Lead design reviews, run field inspections, and drive corrective items to completion so the build matches design intent and specifications
• Prepare and administer contracts, including scope, deliverables, fees, insurance, and compliance requirements
• Manage permits, inspections, and occupancy certificates, and lead project close-out
• Keep strong client relationships and pursue new work with existing clients, including support on qualifications, proposals, and presentations

What you bring

• 10+ years in commercial or public-sector construction management, including 5+ years managing APMs or PEs
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience
• Working knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam, Sage Intacct, and Microsoft Project
• Solid grounding in contracts, compliance, scheduling, and budget accuracy
• A communicator who leads by example, stays responsive, and focuses on solutions
