Position Description

Project Managers lead our production activities in the field, making decisions that impact the success of a project. They monitor and inspect tasks required on commercial and residential mitigation contents handling (pack out)/removal, tracking, cleaning and return according to company and insurance policies procedures and compliance.  The project manager interfaces with customers to explain the processes used to complete active jobs. Controls cost to meet performance targets.  This role is also responsible for the warehouse organization and cleanliness, supply inventory, equipment and vehicle maintenance.

Project Managers assist the Estimator in the creation of project estimates in Xactimate utilizing the program guidelines and IICRC standards. The project manager has a basic understanding of building materials, flooring and other materials affected by wind, water, fire, smoke and personal property damage. 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Retrieves work orders, checks route for travel, ensures appropriate equipment and supplies needed for a job are loaded on truck needed for job, and arrives at the work site
  • Completes assigned projects according to company processes, maintains quality control and cost control for each job
  • Coordinate, supervise and perform daily monitoring of residential and/or commercial projects progress, documentation accuracy and communicates with customers including contract approval
  • Resolve customer or project issues as they arise
  • Maintains records of personnel and resources used on projects and communicates all billable events 
  • Document loss with clear and descriptive job notes and photos and upload into operating system/software
  • Explain contents or cleaning process and steps required to resolve a customer’s loss using printed materials as a guide to close the order
  • Classifies the salvage opportunity for affected contents
  • Interfaces with adjusters and customers to resolve issues and answer questions about the loss
  • Performs quality assurance inspections during and after project completion and obtains customer signatures for approval and payments.
  • Facilitates pack outs, storage, cleaning, move backs and non-salvage documentation
  • Supports on-call list on an as needed basis
  • Responsible for on-site safety procedures and PPE usage
  • Responsible for warehouse organization and cleanliness
  • Responsible for consumable supply inventory, equipment and vehicle maintenance
  • Ensures billing for services and storage is up to date

Skill Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent, college degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance restoration and or construction industry
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
  • Able to work independently or work with/lead a team
  • Strong verbal and written and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and customer service skills
  • Must be able to prioritize activities and meet deadlines 
  • Work to a schedule
  • Must have basic construction background which includes basic understanding of building materials, flooring and other materials affected by wind, water, fire, smoke and other property damage causes. 
  • Certifications preferred:
  • FSRT – Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician
  • OCT – Odor Control Technician

Incumbent must be prepared to:

  • Move up to 70 pounds often, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time. Lifting, squatting, crawling and crouching is required.   
  • For safety reasons, use of appropriate PPE to avoid situational hazards must be used for example respirators, gloves etc.
