Description

Primary purpose:

To be the key point of contact for contract transactions with internal and external customers on all Tallgrass Energy interstate natural gas pipeline facilities.  To act as a first-line resource for the Contract Administrators and Associate Contract Administrators.



Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Contract processing for new service requests.
  • Determining and administering contractual rights as defined by each pipeline tariff.
  • Work closely with the customer, Marketing, Credit, System Design, Legal, Regulatory and Billing groups to ensure that all FERC required processes and reporting requirements are followed with new and amended contract requests.
  • Analysis and processing of contractual ROFR and Rollover tariff provisions.  Also responsible for administering negotiated ROFR and Rollover provisions.
  • Assist external customers in the capacity release process as needed.
  • Administering the Capacity Release program in accordance with the appropriate tariff structure and NAESB deadlines.
  • Quarterly FERC Index of Customers generation (IOC), review and upload to Tallgrass website for each interstate pipeline.
  • Public Posting for all regulated services.
  • Documentation of all contractual activity.
  • Ensuring executed contracts and all relevant correspondence reaches final records retention.
  • Facilitating name changes and company mergers, identifying when contract assignment requests can be accommodated and when they cannot.
  • Problem resolution, project work, audit reports, and systems testing are required of this position.
  • Following through to appropriate areas within the company concerning issues relating to all the above.
  • Mentor and assist the Contract Administrators and Associate Contract Administrators.
  • Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
  • Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the public.
  • Other daily, weekly, monthly, or special project duties as identified and defined.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

 

Experience/Specific Knowledge:

  • Five (5) years recent experience of natural gas interstate pipeline industry’s contract administration processes.
  • Direct external and internal customer relations.
  • Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Outlook.

 

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with peer departments.
  • General knowledge of Tallgrass’ Pipeline Tariffs.
  • Works a heavy customer load.
  • Can handle customers’ inquiries.
  • Needs no direct supervision.
  • Can handle the basic FERC reporting assignments.
  • Ability to act as the “go-to” person for the group.
  • Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
  • Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks under strict deadlines.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily work.
  • Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets; position will be filled depending on qualifications, experience and skill sets of the successful candidate.

Working Conditions:

  • May be required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
  • The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

    Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business or a related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of the QPTM Gas Management System.
  • Working knowledge of each of Tallgrass’ pipeline tariffs, specifically focusing on the pipeline transportation and storage services services..
  • Working knowledge of NAESB Standards and Guidelines as it relates to Contracts, Capacity Release and Transactional Reporting.

    Other responsibilities:

The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed.  This position may perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation: 88,200 - 132,200
