Contracts Manager

South Bend, IN | Data Center Construction | General Contractor

We are working with a General Contractor delivering a major 350,000 sq. ft. data center development in the South Bend area and are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join the project team.

This is a site-based role responsible for managing contracts, subcontractor agreements, commercial risk and contract compliance across a large-scale ground-up data center project.

Recent data center or mission-critical construction experience is essential.

The Role

The Contracts Manager will work closely with the Project Executive, Project Managers, commercial team, legal partners and subcontractors to ensure contracts are properly administered throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing subcontract agreements and contract administration across the project
  

• Reviewing contract terms, scopes of work and commercial obligations
  

• Supporting subcontractor procurement, negotiations and contract award
  

• Managing change orders, claims, notices and contractual correspondence
  

• Tracking subcontractor compliance against contract requirements
  

• Identifying contractual and commercial risks and supporting mitigation strategies
  

• Working closely with project teams to resolve scope gaps, disputes and commercial issues
  

• Supporting cost control and change management processes
  

• Ensuring required documentation, insurance, bonds and contractual records are maintained
  

• Monitoring key contract milestones, deliverables and notice requirements
  

• Supporting project leadership with commercial reporting and contract status updates
  

• Coordinating with legal teams where required on claims, disputes or complex contract matters
  

• Supporting project closeout and final account reconciliation
  

What We’re Looking For

• Recent data center or mission-critical construction experience is essential
  

• Previous experience working for a General Contractor or major Construction Manager
  

• Strong experience in construction contracts and subcontract administration
  

• Experience with change orders, claims, commercial negotiations and contract compliance
  

• Strong understanding of construction scopes, procurement and project delivery
  

• Experience working on large-scale ground-up construction projects
  

• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  

• Ability to work closely with project, commercial, legal and field teams
  

• Ability to work full-time on site in the South Bend area
