The Controller for The DiMarco Group plays a critical role in overseeing the accounting operations and supporting strategic financial initiatives across multiple entities and investor portfolios. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this position ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient financial systems while contributing to long-term financial planning and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounting Oversight: Manage all accounting functions across multiple operating entities and investor portfolios, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with GAAP.
• Bookkeeping Management: Supervise bookkeeping activities across multiple entities under management, ensuring timely and accurate recordkeeping.
• Financial Statement Preparation & Review: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for all entities.
• Cash Forecasting & Management: Lead short- and long-term cash forecasting and daily cash management.
• Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Collaborate with the Director of Finance to support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Tax Planning & Compliance: Manage and review complex tax returns, co-ordinate with external tax advisors, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws while optimizing tax strategies
• Application Support: Provide support and oversight for financial systems including MRI, QuickBooks, Nexus, and Kyriba.
• Internal Controls: Develop internal processes and assist in the design, implementation, and monitoring of internal control procedures to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
• Project-Based Support: Contribute to cross-functional, project-based initiatives aimed at optimizing financial processes and supporting broader business objectives.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA designation preferred.
• Experience: 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience
• Tax Expertise: Experience with personal tax planning and compliance is highly desirable, particularly in contexts involving ownership-level financial strategy.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, MRI), Excel, and financial reporting tools. Experience with Nexus and Kyriba is a plus.
• Analytical & Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally and support strategic initiatives.
