Brandy Rice with The Forum Group PNW is working with a well-established, family-owned organization in Eugene to find an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. The company has served the residential and commercial building industries for more than 50 years.
This is a highly visible leadership position that works closely with the President and management team. The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations while also providing financial insight, improving processes, strengthening controls, and supporting the company's continued growth.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on financial leader who is equally comfortable digging into the details and partnering with leadership on higher-level business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all accounting and financial operations for the organization.
Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and maintain the integrity of financial information.
Develop, maintain, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Partner closely with the President and management team on financial and business matters.
Coordinate with outside CPAs, auditors, banking partners, insurance professionals, and other external resources.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Partner with IT leadership to improve financial systems, technology, reporting, and processes.
Lead, mentor, and support the accounting team responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Contract Billing.
Oversee collections efforts and help resolve high-priority or complex accounts receivable matters.
Continuously evaluate accounting processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency and accuracy.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Previous experience in a Controller, CFO, or comparable senior financial leadership role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Experience with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Office.
Hands-on knowledge of accounts payable, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
Strong budgeting, forecasting, and analytical capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop an accounting team.
Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Manufacturing, construction-related, building products, or similar industry experience is preferred but not required.
