At Rosario Assisted Living & Memory Care, we believe great food is an important part of making our community feel like home. We’re looking for a dependable, caring, and team-oriented Cook to join our culinary team and help create enjoyable dining experiences for our residents.

As a Cook, you’ll prepare and serve high-quality meals while supporting residents’ individual preferences and dietary needs. You’ll also help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen while working closely with the culinary team and other departments throughout the community.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and cook meals, snacks, and other menu items according to planned menus, standardized recipes, and established schedules
• Prepare meals that support residents’ individual dietary needs, preferences, and special diet requirements
• Prepare alternative menu items when needed to accommodate resident preferences
• Ensure meals are prepared, portioned, and presented in an attractive and appetizing manner
• Follow appropriate portion control and food preparation practices
• Maintain proper food temperatures throughout preparation, holding, and service
• Accurately complete required food, refrigerator, freezer, and other temperature logs
• Label, date, store, and rotate food according to established food safety practices
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, infection prevention, and kitchen safety procedures
• Ensure meals and snacks are prepared and available according to established dining schedules
• Support an enjoyable dining experience by helping ensure meals are accurate, timely, and consistent
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area
• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment as needed
• Safely operate kitchen equipment and report equipment or maintenance concerns promptly
• Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food, supplies, and deliveries
• Monitor food and supply levels and communicate inventory needs to culinary leadership
• Use food and supplies responsibly to help minimize waste
• Assist with meals, special events, celebrations, and other community dining needs
• Communicate resident preferences, concerns, or changes related to dining to the appropriate team member
• Work collaboratively with culinary staff, caregivers, leadership, and other departments throughout the community
• Interact with residents, families, visitors, and team members in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner
• Maintain regular and dependable attendance and arrive prepared for scheduled shifts
• Perform other duties related to culinary and dining services as assigned

What We’re Looking For

• Previous cooking or food service experience preferred; senior living, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality experience is a plus
• Knowledge of food preparation, food safety, and sanitation practices
• Ability to follow menus, recipes, dietary instructions, and established procedures
• Ability to prepare multiple menu items while maintaining quality and meeting established meal schedules
• Strong organization and time-management skills
• Attention to detail, particularly when preparing meals for residents with specific dietary needs or preferences
• Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of the culinary team
• Positive, resident-focused attitude with a commitment to providing excellent service
• Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality
• Ability to meet applicable food handler and other training or certification requirements

• Pay Range: $22-25/hour, depending on experience
• Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays after the 90-day introductory period

Education:  

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 

Licenses/Certification:  

• ServSafe Food Safety Certification required.
• Food Handlers permit if required per state regulations.

Experience: 

• Six months’ experience in large quantity food preparation. Experience with therapeutic diet preparation preferred.
• Six months experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
