Pay: $19.22 per hour + $1500 hiring bonus

Work schedule: Full-time, shift varies

Work with a purpose! El Valle Detention Facility located in Raymondville, Texas, is now hiring career-minded people to assist with securing the safety of our community while positively impacting the lives of those on the inside. 

Job responsibilities: You'll be responsible for the preparation of facility meals in accordance with pre-planned menus.

Essential Functions:

1. Prepare and cook quantity of food required according to menu and number of non-citizens. 


2. Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly workable condition. Ensure work area is safe, clean and sanitary at all times. 


3. Maintain accountability of kitchen tools. 


4. Prepare foods as directed for special facility functions and visitors and assist in cleaning kitchen work areas following each meal.


5. Supervise non-citizens assigned to assist in the kitchen. 


6. Requires long periods of walking and standing and the pushing and pulling of food carts.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. 


• Food service training, one (1) year of food service or related experience and prior supervisory experience are preferred.


• A valid food handlers permit is also required (company will provide after hire), if required by the state of Texas. 


• Must successfully complete required preservice training. 


• A valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
