Job Description - Coordinator 2, FSC, Data Management

Location: Hattie Mae White \n\nDepartment: FSC - State Reporting \n\nArea:District Wide \n\nContract Months:12 \n\nSalary Range: $85,000.00 \u2013 $105,000.00 \n\nAcademic Year: 26-27 \n\n## JOB SUMMARY\n\nThe Coordinator 2 of Federal and State Compliance \u2013 Data Management is responsible for leading the data processes around Ed-Fi related to all state and federal reporting. The Coordinator 2 works with other districts, IT, and the SIS vendor to ensure smooth processes related to Ed-Fi and reporting from the district to the state. This role requires an advanced skillset of data and analytics skills, expertise in K-12 data reporting at the district, state, and federal levels as well as proven leadership experience within teams.\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n * Leads the Ed-Fi process for the academics data sets.\n * Leads the data collection and transformation work for state and federal reporting.\n * Coordinates data and analytics work with coordination work with data analysts, data technicians, IT, academia, and practitioners to ensure alignment and cohesion of the work across the district.\n * Conducts complex data validations with a strong aptitude for pattern and data validation detection within the customer experience and qualitative space.\n * Proactively identifies trends in data to be reported and recommends remediation, supports, continuation, or other plans to address.\n * Performs other job-related duties as assigned.\n\n\n\n \n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED\n\nN/A\n\n## EDUCATION\n\nBachelor\u2019s degree \n\n*Applicants who do not meet these education qualifications may be considered if they have a unique combination of education and work experiences that indicate potential for success in this role.\n\n## WORK EXPERIENCE\n\n \nAt least 5 years working in the district/central office of a large urban school district\n\n*Applicants who do not meet these work experience qualifications may be considered if they have a unique combination of education and work experiences that indicate potential for success in this role.\n\n## SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION\n\nMicrosoft Office\n\n## LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nWork Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing is restricted to monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of the same duties they are leading.\n\n## WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT\n\nWork is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing direction on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.\n\n## BUDGET AUTHORITY\n\nCompiles and organizes data and figures.\n\n## PROBLEM SOLVING\n\nDecisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.\n\n## IMPACT OF DECISIONS\n\nDecisions have considerable impact to multiple divisions or the organization causing risks or improvements to relationships, significant efficiencies, or delays in operations, and/or significant financial gains or expenses. \nErrors are serious and difficult to discover, normally involve decisions not subject to detailed review and will result in excessive costs and/or significant project delays.\n\n## COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS\n\nCollaborate and solve problems \u2013 works with others to resolve problems, clarify or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.\n\n## CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS\n\nLeads others in the resolution of highly sensitive and confidential issues on behalf of the department. Acts as a trusted advisor and becomes involved in the customer\u0027s decision-making process including presenting alternatives and information and applying persuasion and negotiation skills in the resolution of problems. \nMonitors customer service standards.\n\n## WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS\n\nWork is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.\n\nAbility to carry and/or lift less than 45 pounds.\n\nHouston Independent School District is an equal opportunity employer. \n
