Coordinator for Student Organizations

The Coordinator for Student Organizations supports a vibrant and inclusive campus engagement environment by providing training, operational guidance, and developmental support to student organizations and their faculty and staff advisors. This position advances leadership development and recognition initiatives, promotes meaningful student involvement, and leads the Student Involvement Ambassadors program to support new‑student recruitment, campus tours, and education about involvement opportunities and the value of engagement.

• Provide advising, training, and operational guidance to registered student organizations, officers, and faculty/staff advisors to support organizational effectiveness and compliance with university policies and procedures.
• Develop, deliver, and assess training programs, workshops, and resources focused on leadership development, organization management, and effective student engagement.
• Support student organization registration, re‑registration, constitution review, and ongoing organizational maintenance processes.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for student organization inquiries, conflict resolution, and problem‑solving related to operations and engagement.
• Advance leadership development initiatives and support recognition programs that celebrate student involvement, leadership growth, and organizational achievement.
• Lead and manage the Student Involvement Ambassadors program, including recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of student ambassadors.
• Coordinate student ambassadors’ participation in new‑student recruitment, campus tours, orientation‑related activities, and outreach efforts that promote involvement opportunities and the value of engagement.
• Collaborate with Admissions, New Student & Family Programs, and campus partners to align engagement messaging and recruitment and retention goals.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and communications related to student organizations, leadership initiatives, and ambassador programs.
• Assist with assessment, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts for student engagement and leadership programs.
• Serve on committees, collaborate on divisional and institutional initiatives, and perform other duties as assigned in support of the Student Affairs mission.

Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in higher education, student affairs, education, leadership, or a related field with one year of related professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience working with student organizations, leadership programs, or student engagement initiatives.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn institutional policies, procedures, and student organization operations.

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution in higher education administration, student affairs, or a related field.
• Experience advising student organizations and working with faculty or staff advisors.
• Experience developing and facilitating leadership training or educational programs.
• Experience supervising student employees or student leaders.
• Familiarity with campus involvement platforms, such as Eagle Engage (CampusGroups).
