The Office of Graduate Medical Education is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Professional to support the financial operations that help advance the education and development of medical residents and fellows. This critical role manages complex financial processes, including funding reimbursements, contract administration, budgeting, reporting, and compliance activities that support Graduate Medical Education programs.

The Financial Professional serves as a key partner to hospital affiliates, clinical departments, and GME leadership by ensuring accurate financial management of trainee salaries, benefits, funding agreements, and operational expenses. This position analyzes financial data, prepares reports for leadership, monitors budgets, and provides strategic insight to support sound fiscal decision-making.

With responsibility for CMS funding, subsidy sources, affiliation agreements, insurance benefits, and trainee financial compliance, this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory requirements. The Financial Professional also plays an essential role in maintaining compliance with ACGME standards, nonresident alien tax requirements, and institutional policies while supporting audits, reconciliations, and continuous improvement of financial processes.

  • Ability to learn and use ETSU’s management system, Voyager.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, congenial working relationships and function as part of a team.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or healthcare administration or related field. 
  • Previous experience in Graduate Medical Education administration and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) funding.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business administration, Finance, or Healthcare Administration.
  • Previous experience in Graduate Medical Education administration and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) funding.
  • Experience with Artic International and nonresident alien tax processes.
