Coordinator II, Child Abuse & Neglect (226 Days)

•    Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology or closely related field
•    Four years experience working with Child Protective Services, a domestic violence shelter or another agency that serves abuse victims
•    Knowledge of state and federal laws related to mandated reporting, child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and human trafficking and ability to interpret and apply laws, policies, and procedures
•    Knowledge of school district policies and procedures related to student safety, critical incident reporting, and documentation requirements
•    Knowledge of Child Protective Services (CPS), law enforcement, and community agency processes for reporting and investigating suspected abuse or neglect
•    Knowledge of Texas Penal Code and Texas Family Code
•    Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
•    Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, decision-making, analytical and critical thinking skills
•    Effective verbal communication, written, and presentation skills for training, providing guidance to staff and administrators, and reporting
•    Demonstrates the ability to successfully complete tasks with minimal direction and supervision
•    Knowledge of confidentiality requirements, including student privacy protections and records management
•    Knowledge of risk indicators and warning signs of child abuse, neglect, domestic violence, and human trafficking
•    Ability to facilitate collaboration between schools, CPS, law enforcement, and community agencies
•    Experience in managing data and preparing accountability data reports as well as data tracking systems, reporting tools, and online training platforms

•    The Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting Coordinator supports district compliance with state law and district policy related to the reporting of suspected child abuse and neglect. This position is responsible for providing training to district staff on mandated reporting requirements, reviewing reports involving suspected abuse or neglect, and ensuring appropriate reporting. The Coordinator monitors documentation for compliance, reporting, and district obligations. The position maintains accurate records of reviews, communications, and actions taken related to child abuse accusations.
•    Provide program leadership through consultation and technical assistance to district staff and administrators regarding suspected child abuse, neglect, domestic violence, and human trafficking.
•    Facilitate coordination and referrals related to child abuse, neglect, and domestic violence between the district, Child Protective Services, local law enforcement, and other community and social service agencies.
•    Monitor and review campus critical incident reports and related documentation involving suspected child abuse or neglect to ensure compliance with district procedures and legal reporting requirements.
•    Monitor documentation to confirm that mandated reports to appropriate authorities (e.g., Child Protective Services or law enforcement) are submitted within required timeframes.
•    Appropriately report when documentation indicates a required report was not made or when directed by district leadership.
•    Notify campus and district administrators when required reports have not been filed and document the circumstances.
•    Develop and provide in-person and virtual training for district employees regarding mandated reporting requirements, district policies, and state and federal laws related to child abuse, neglect, domestic violence, and human trafficking. Track training participation, reporting trends, and compliance data to support district monitoring and continuous improvement.
•    Maintain data analytics and detailed documentation of report reviews, consultations, and actions taken; summarize findings and prepare reports for district leadership as requested.
•    Participate in student and parent awareness activities including parent meetings, workshops, community events, fairs, and youth or teen advisory groups to promote awareness of child abuse prevention and reporting.
•    Maintain the department website and manage online training modules related to mandated reporting and child abuse prevention.
