About CRC: Our mission is to help our neighbors create paths to healthy food, stable homes and safe relationships. We do this through a variety of programs including emergency assistance, domestic violence emergency shelter, counseling, housing stability and access to food. Community Resource Center is widely recognized as the primary provider of social services and domestic violence programs in coastal North County San Diego, serving more than 7,200 people each year.



Position Profile: Under the supervision of the Manager of People & Culture, the Human Resource Coordinator provides administrative support across key human resource functions in alignment with applicable state and federal regulations and the mission and values of Community Resource Center (CRC). This position supports day-to-day HR operations, with primary responsibilities related to payroll administration, employee records management, onboarding and offboarding coordination, benefits administration, HR compliance, and employee support. This position offers opportunities to develop HR knowledge and contribute to the continued improvement of CRC’s employee experience and workplace practices. 


 


Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 



  • Process semi-monthly payroll, including reviewing timekeeping records, processing payroll documentation, updating employee changes, and coordinating payroll corrections as needed. 



  • Coordinate recruitment and hiring processes, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, and maintaining recruitment documentation. 



  • Coordinate employee onboarding, promotions, and offboarding processes, including preparing paperwork, coordinating system and facility access, supporting employee changes, and maintaining required documentation. 



  • Maintain accurate personnel files and employee information across HR systems, including ADP, BambooHR, Ease, Recognize, and SharePoint. 



  • Support benefits administration, including employee enrollment processes, open enrollment communications, qualifying life events, benefits documentation, and routine employee requests. 



  • Provide administrative support for HR compliance activities, including I-9 audits, ACA reporting, EEO-1 reporting, OSHA reporting, required training tracking, personnel file audits, and other compliance tasks.  



  • Support employee lifecycle processes, including performance review administration, training coordination, leave tracking, and employee communications. 



  • Respond to routine employee questions and provide support with HR systems, policies, benefits, and employee programs. 



  • Assist with compensation administration, including employee pay updates, payroll action forms, and maintenance of job descriptions and related HR documentation. 



  • Support workplace safety and risk management activities, including safety committee coordination, training records, incident documentation, and workers’ compensation administration. 



  • Prepare HR reports, including headcount, turnover, and employee demographics. 



  • Assist with employee engagement activities.  



  • Perform other duties as assigned. 


 


Requirements:  



  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience. 



  • 2 years of human resource experience preferred. 



  • Exposure and knowledge of California labor law and employment regulations. 



  • PHR, PHRca, or SHRM-CP preferred. 



  • Strong team skills and ability to work independently. 



  • Knowledge of policies and procedures associated with payroll and benefit administration required. 



  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) required. 

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and BambooHR are a plus.

Physical requirements: 



  • Primarily sedentary with intermittent standing, walking, bending, and stair climbing. 



  • Occasional light lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. 



  • Ability to work in a standard office environment at a computer, including repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse.

This position is full-time, non-exempt, and is paid according to federal and state laws. Candidates selected for hire are required to undergo a TB screening and a LiveScan background screening.
