The Internal Medicine Residency Faculty Physician will work closely with the Program Director, Program Administrator, and faculty to support the educational, clinical, and scholarly mission of the residency program. This role includes teaching and mentoring residents, developing and enhancing curriculum, supporting resident recruitment and orientation, participating in continuity clinic operations, and contributing to didactic and scholarly activities. Faculty members will partner with the Program Director to develop a portfolio of responsibilities aligned with the needs and goals of the residency program, which may include areas such as simulation, quality improvement, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), research, clinical ethics, or other educational initiatives.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the residency curriculum, rotations, and educational initiatives. 
  • Teach and mentor residents through lectures, workshops, simulation activities, clinical precepting, and other learning opportunities. 
  • Participate in resident recruitment, evaluation, advising, and professional development activities. 
  • Foster a positive learning environment that promotes resident wellness, feedback, and professional growth. 
  • Engage in scholarly activity and ongoing faculty development at the local and national levels. 
  • Provide direct patient care in the residency continuity clinic and/or inpatient setting, including shared call and attending responsibilities. 

 

POCUS Leadership Responsibilities

In collaboration with the CentraCare GME Medical Director, this faculty physician will provide leadership for the development, implementation, and growth of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) education and clinical integration across graduate medical education programs.

  • Oversee POCUS infrastructure, including curriculum development, quality assurance processes, faculty development, and clinical implementation. 
  • Integrate POCUS into resident education through workshops, simulation, bedside teaching, image review, and didactic instruction while promoting competency among both learners and faculty. 
  • Collaborate with Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and OB/GYN residency programs to advance standardized ultrasound education, competency assessment, and clinical utilization. 
  • Contribute to scholarly and educational initiatives that support the advancement of POCUS training and implementation across CentraCare's GME programs.

 

Schedule

  • Part Time | .2 | Hybrid On site, Virtual (remainder of FTE will be clinical practice)

  • Days 

 

Pay and Benefits

  • Salary range: $250,000 - $500,000 per year

    • Pay may be determined by factors such as education, experience, skills, knowledge, location, and internal equity

    • Salary and salary range are based on a 1.0 FTE, reduced FTE will result in a prorated offer rate

    • May be eligible for additional pay through bonuses, quality incentives, or production-based (RVU) compensation.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Board Certification 

  • Required completion of IM Residency Training

  • MN Licensure or licensure eligibility

  • Required to be an active member of the American Academy of Physicians and/or the Society of Hospital Medicine

  • ACLS

Preferred:

  • Preferred three years’ experience as an internal medicine or critical care physician or applicable internal medicine subspecialties

  • Preferred Fellowship training in Faculty Development
