Costing Engineer

Position Overview:

The Costing Engineer will be responsible for supporting the business unit programs through customer interaction, internal interaction with various costing teams, and interaction with multiple manufacturing facilities. The primary focus is to benefit customer costing through a collaborative approach with these groups, and end goal to help improve and gain business for the overall sales portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties: 

• Provide upfront input to customer for future projects to be costed


• Problem solve new programs with customer requesting assistance


• Receive inputs from manufacturing facilities that can be communicated to customer through design feedback (tooling, tolerances, materials, etc.)


• Assist costing groups with suggested feedback and changes to improve costing projects and quoting


• Assist Sales department for drawing and design review feedback on future projects, providing input on engineering design and manufacturing within capabilities for products in current and new customer bases and product types

Required Education & Experience: 

• At least 2 years experience relevant to Manufacturing or Design Engineering in metal mechanic manufacturing environments


• CAD (drafting) proficiency required, Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks preferred

Preferred Education & Experience: 

• Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree


• Experience and business knowledge of metal mechanic manufacturing


• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Data Analysis)

Skills & Abilities:

• The candidate should be a data driven, results oriented, hands on, creative and detail-oriented leader with strong knowledge of Quality and Engineering aspects for a global manufacturing Company.


• The candidate should have project management qualifications to organize customer and internal needs during product launch.


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifically related to metal mechanic products


• Effective communication skills – verbal/written
