Job Description - Couples Therapist

Scottsdale Center for Sex and Relationship is a specialized mental health practice focused on relationship counseling, sex therapy, trauma informed care, and emotional wellness. The practice supports individuals and couples navigating intimacy concerns, communication challenges, attachment wounds, sexual health issues, and relational growth. The team provides evidence based therapy services in a compassionate, inclusive, and affirming environment for diverse clients and relationship structures. Scottsdale Center for Sex and Relationship Therapy is seeking a compassionate and skilled Couples Therapist to provide psychotherapy services for adult individuals and couples experiencing relationship and intimacy concerns. This role involves conducting therapy sessions, developing treatment plans, maintaining clinical documentation, and supporting clients through evidence based therapeutic approaches. The ideal candidate is experienced in couples counseling, emotionally focused therapy, trauma informed care, and relationship dynamics. This position requires strong interpersonal communication skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary therapy practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychotherapy services for couples and adult clients in virtual and in person settings
  • Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Support clients experiencing relationship conflict, intimacy concerns, communication challenges, and emotional disconnection
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record system
  • Apply evidence based therapeutic approaches including attachment focused and trauma informed interventions
  • Collaborate with fellow clinicians and participate in case consultation meetings
  • Uphold ethical, legal, and professional standards of clinical practice
  • Maintain a consistent therapy schedule and manage client appointments effectively
  • Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field
  • Active Arizona licensure or license eligibility as a mental health professional
  • Experience providing couples counseling and psychotherapy services
  • Knowledge of relationship therapy models and trauma informed care practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential client records and documentation
  • Comfortable using electronic health record systems and telehealth platforms
  • Commitment to inclusive, respectful, and client centered care
