Crane Operator I

Operates a crane to safely lift, move and position a wide variety of loads, as well as performing other construction related activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates ability to operate a crane for all construction purposes. 


• Performs maintenance and inspection on crane and associated lifting equipment for safe and smooth operation.


• Obtain proper service as required. 


• Based upon knowledge of lifting and the products lifted, strap, hook, or secure all loads to prevent damage to the crane and its load and surrounding area.


• Possess knowledge of the cranes capacities and capabilities for all loads encountered.


• Maintain good health habits with excellent driving record.


• Perform other assigned construction activities when not engaged in crane operation.


• Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Participate in safety activities and wear protective equipment where required.

Education:

• High School Diploma, or GED, preferred.


• Technical school education, preferred.
