Credit Analyst, Corporate Fixed Income - Hybrid

Symetra Investment Management has an exciting opportunity to join our growing team as a Corporate Fixed Income Credit Analyst in Farmington, Ct!\n\n \n\nAbout the role\n\nAs a Credit Analyst on Symetra Investment Management\u0027s Investment Grade (IG) Corporate Credit team managing approximately $50 billion AUM. You will perform rigorous fundamental credit analysis and develop investment recommendations that drive portfolio performance across our general account and growing affiliated mandates. You will own coverage of issuers across one or more industry sectors, present credit ideas with a well-developed thesis, and partner directly with Portfolio Managers and Traders on new issue allocation, relative value, and ongoing surveillance.\n\nThis role suits an analyst ready to begin primary sector coverage, or one that is ready to grow their coverage experience.\n\nThis is a hybrid role based in our Farmington, CT office (eight days per month in office).\n\n \n\nCompany Overview\n\nSymetra Investment Management (\"SIM\") is a SEC-registered investment advisory firm with approximately $78 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2025. Check out our Symetra Benefits Overview\n\n\n\n \n\nCompensation\n\nSalary Range: $132,700 - $175,000 plus eligibility for annual bonus programs\n\nWho you are\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, or a related field is required. MBA and/or CFA designation (or meaningful progress toward CFA) is preferred but not required.\n * 3+ years of corporate credit research experience on the buy side or sell side. Experience covering multiple sectors is a plus.\n * Demonstrated ability to support an investment thesis with both quantitative and qualitative evidence, and to communicate it with conviction in writing and in person.\n * Comfort with uncertainty and the willingness to make recommendations that are well-reasoned but inherently incomplete -- credit is decision-making under imperfect information.\n * Strong fundamental analysis toolkit: financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, capital structure, covenant analysis, and relative value frameworks (spread, spread duration, credit curves).\n * Proficiency with Bloomberg and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with Power BI is a plus.\n * Prior hands-on AI experience is a plus but not a requirement.
