GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
Member of the interdisciplinary team, that provides classroom instruction, community support, benefits counseling, internships and test preparation to prospective certified recovery support specialists. CRSS Success Program Instructors must creatively plan and implement curriculum-focused groups approved by the Illinois Certification Board (ICB) that include a combination of psycho-education, discussion, and interactive activities to assist students in developing skills that will help prepare them for a variety of different occupational options as a CRSS. CRSS instructors will participate in the implementation of client’s individual educational plans, aimed to reduce barriers to successful completion of the program. Areas of consideration include housing, food security, physical, mental health and substance use treatment, benefits counseling, and other needed resources. Staff will complete documentation as required by the multidisciplinary team, CQL, Accreditation, and funders, including. Instructors must meet established productivity targets as assigned.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, or related Human Services field strongly preferred
Must be Certified by ICB which requires a CRSS, CRPS or CADC certification (or in application process for certification) OR requesting exception by documenting rationale
Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver's license or state ID, be approved to drive agency vehicles through agency insurance, pass a criminal background check. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate and document on curriculum-based instruction to people with lived experience with mental illness and/or substance use issues pursuing certification as a recovery support service professional. Must be able to set and maintain professional boundaries, be able to adapt to changing needs of the program and students. Must have the ability to problem solve and provide support interventions as needed.
