Job Description - Cultural Resources Manager

Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 33 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Cultural Resources Manager.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cultural Resources Manager, a background in Construction, Archeology, Architectural History, and/or other related fields and the ability to navigate complex cultural compliance requirements. Candidates should possess strong project management, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a construction environment.

If selected, candidates will need to provide digital proof of licensure and certification for all U.S.-based accolades, including academic degrees, before the time of the interview. Information provided will be handled with discretion and used purely for employment-related purposes, including background checks for various government agency clients.

This position will be full-time, on-site. Candidates are expected to live in or near the New York metropolitan area.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to cultural resources, historic preservation, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Conduct research, surveys, and reviews to assess cultural resources and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and construction teams to address compliance and preservation issues effectively.
  • Provide technical expertise on cultural resources compliance, including interpreting complex regulations and developing clear communication strategies.
  • Lead work groups to implement cultural resource management plans and ensure project goals are met.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality reports, recommendations, and client-ready documentation.
  • Manage consultant work efforts, project schedules, and budgets to meet client objectives.
  • Participate in consensus-building activities and problem-solving in construction and operational settings.
  • Stay updated on cultural resource laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and effective management.
  • Perform field visits to assess and monitor impacts on cultural resources and ensure compliance with mitigation measures.
QUALIFICATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Archeology, Architectural History, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cultural Resources Specialist, including hands-on experience in compliance and preservation efforts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey findings and recommendations.
  • Proficiency in research, analysis, and problem-solving related to cultural resource compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Project management experience, including developing schedules and budgets, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams.
