Location: Hattie Mae White \n\nDepartment: AP/IB Curr \u0026 Programming \n\nArea:District Wide \n\nContract Months:12 \n\nSalary Range: $90,000.00 \u2013 $110,000.00 \n\nAcademic Year: 26-27 \n\n## JOB SUMMARY\n\nThe Curriculum Designer 1, CTE Career Center Programming-Construction develops HISD NES (New Education System) curriculum in Career \u0026 Technical Education for the trades career cluster, with a specific emphasis on writing teacher facing curriculum, including slide decks with teacher guide for implementation, Demonstration of Learning (DOL), student activities and differentiated assignments aligned to the daily objective. They are responsible for ensuring alignment to the future of work in their assigned industry.\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nList most important duties first \n1\\. NES Curriculum Development: Design and create curriculum for assigned content area(s) and grade level band(s), ensuring alignment with NES model and Houston ISD\u0027s educational objectives. This includes slides, student activities, assessments, and differentiated assignments. \n2\\. Curriculum Evaluation: Evaluate curriculum through a sensitivity lens to ensure grade-level appropriateness and cultural relevance. \n3\\. Participation of Brain Trusts (PLC): Participate in collaborative brain trust sessions to gather insights, share expertise, and foster innovation in curriculum design and instructional strategies to ensure alignment, correctness, and clarity of each lesson document.\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED\n\n4\\. TEKS-Driven Professional Development: Attend professional development sessions focused on internalizing state standards and alignment to NES model for assigned content area(s) and grade level band(s). \n5\\. Partner with AP Programming leads to ensure alignment to demands of College Board and feedback from colleges \n6\\. Other duties as assigned. (Note: No additional information is needed in this text box.)\n\n## EDUCATION\n\nPrevious experience as an AP teacher, required; \nBachelor\u0027s Degree\n\n## WORK EXPERIENCE\n\n1 to 3 years\n\n## SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION\n\nSoftware \nMicrosoft Office\n\nCertifications/Licensure\n\nEquipment \nOffice equipment (e.g., computer, copier)\n\n## LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nLevel 2 -Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing is restricted to monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of the same duties they are leading.\n\n## WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT\n\n-Work involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Independent judgment is often required to select and apply the most appropriate of available resources.
