Job Description - Curriculum Designer 1, Future Seminars (Multiple Positions)

Location: Hattie Mae White \n\nDepartment: Counseling, Curriculum Design \u0026 Assess \n\nArea:District Wide \n\nContract Months:12 \n\nSalary Range: $90,000.00 \u2013 $110,000.00 \n\nAcademic Year: 26-27 \n\n## JOB SUMMARY\n\nDesigns and develops innovative curriculum for Futures Seminar courses that integrate artificial intelligence practices, critical thinking, and real-world problem solving. Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure alignment to district priorities while preparing students for emerging technologies, fostering adaptability, and driving meaningful, future-ready learning outcomes.\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n1\\. Designs and develops curriculum for Future Seminar courses focused on AI applications, critical thinking, and real-world problem solving\n\n2\\. Creates engaging instructional materials including lesson plans, projects, and student-centered activities aligned to course objectives\n\n3\\. Integrates emerging technologies and AI tools into curriculum design to enhance student learning experiences\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED\n\n4\\. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of curriculum with district initiatives and future-ready competencies\n\n5\\. Evaluates curriculum effectiveness using student outcomes and feedback to continuously improve course content\n\n6\\. Supports professional learning for educators implementing Future Seminar courses\n\n## EDUCATION\n\nBachelor\u0027s Degree\n\n## WORK EXPERIENCE\n\nAt least 3 years experience in curriculum design, teaching, or innovation-focused education roles\n\n## SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION\n\nSoftware\n\nOracle\n\nSAP\n\nMicrosoft Office\n\nOther: AI literacy, instructional design, project-based learning\n\nEquipment\n\nOffice equipment (e.g., computer, copier)\n\n## LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nLevel 1-No supervisory responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice, and training to staff.\n\n## WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT\n\n## BUDGET AUTHORITY\n\nNo budget development activity is required.\n\n## PROBLEM SOLVING\n\nDecisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.\n\n## IMPACT OF DECISIONS\n\nDecisions have considerable impact to multiple divisions or the organization causing risks or improvements to relationships, significant efficiencies, or delays in operations, and/or significant financial gains or expenses. Errors are serious and difficult to discover, normally involve decisions not subject to detailed review and will result in excessive costs and/or significant project delays.\n\n## COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS\n\nCollaborate and solve problems - work with others to resolve problems, clarify, or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.\n\n## CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS\n\nAnticipates customer needs, identifies, and champions opportunities for the development and implementation of new services and methods to meet or exceed customer needs.
