Custodial Lead - FT - Days/Mid

Seeking a full-time Custodial Lead to support our Housekeeping department at Houghton Hospital, located on 2200 S Houghton Rd, Tucson AZ 85748.

Varied Shift:  after training work hours will be 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. These hours may flex based on the needs of the department. Will be rotating weekends and holidays.

Job Summary

The Custodian Lead is responsible for overseeing custodial operations to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in the facility. This role leads a team of custodians, assigns daily tasks, and monitors work quality to ensure compliance with cleaning protocols. The Custodian Lead also performs custodial duties and coordinates with other departments as needed to support daily operations and special projects.

Essential Functions

• Leads and directs the daily work of custodial staff, ensuring cleaning assignments are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Trains new custodial staff in safety protocols, proper cleaning techniques, and use of equipment.
• Inspects assigned areas regularly to ensure standards of cleanliness and safety are met.
• Assists with scheduling, inventory of supplies, and coordination of special cleaning projects.
• Performs general custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting, and trash removal.
• Ensures proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Reports maintenance or safety issues to appropriate personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of custodial experience required
• 1-2 years of team lead or supervisory experience preferred

• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to lead, train, and monitor the work of others.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
