JOB OVERVIEW
The Custody Operations Specialist will be responsible for executing and supporting daily operational processes across transaction processing, account management, and reconciliations, with a specialized focus on cryptocurrency and digital asset services. This role requires a strong foundation in traditional financial operations—such as wire transfers and core trust/banking systems—combined with a good understanding of cryptocurrency trading, blockchain networks, and custody solutions. The specialist will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all operational activities while supporting the Company’s institutional-grade custody platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Custody Operations: Support the safekeeping and transfer of custodied assets, ensuring secure custody processes and compliance with policies.
Transaction Processing: Support the movement of custodied assets into and out of the custody environment.
Daily Reconciliations: Perform reconciliations of assets under custody balances across internal systems, core platforms, and external strategic partners.
Core Platform Entries: Post and validate journal entries, ensuring proper accounting treatment across fiat and crypto transactions.
Transaction Monitoring: Track and validate fiat transactions, including bank transfers, trading settlements, and custody activity.
Account Management: Support the opening, maintenance, and servicing of client accounts, including both fiat and digital asset accounts.
Risk & Compliance Collaboration: Partner with the Risk and Compliance Team to ensure transaction monitoring, AML/KYC checks, and regulatory reporting requirements are met.
Process Improvement: Identify and recommend enhancements to operational workflows, controls, and system efficiencies.
Reporting: Prepare operational reports for management, auditors, and regulators as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Prior experience working in trust operations.
Experience working for a qualified and regulated custodian.
Strong appreciation for the level of maturity and ethics required for this role.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
3–7 years of experience in financial operations, treasury operations, or banking; experience in digital assets or fintech strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge with custody, wire transfer processes, and operations accounting.
Experience with reconciliations and posting entries to core trust/banking systems and/or custody platforms.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across risk, compliance, technology, and client service teams.
A person-people who genuinely enjoys working alongside others; easy to get along with, respectful, and has a positive presence on the team.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
To be successful in this role, you should have experience with and an understanding of the following:
Experience in custody technologies such as SS&C Black Diamon (formerly known as InnoTrust).
Demonstrated strong general technical competence.
Ability to synthesize multiple sources of input (data, stakeholders, client research, design) and arrive at high quality decisions.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products.

LOCATION
This is an in-office position requiring physical presence during business hours to support operational coordination and oversight.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to speak and hear. The associate is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. This job requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
