The Customer Marketing Specialist supports the day-to-day execution of UKG's customer reference and referral programs. In this role, you will assist with the coordination and fulfillment of customer advocacy activities, helping ensure a positive experience for internal stakeholders and customer advocates.  


Working under the direction of Customer Marketing Managers, you will support reference and referral processes, maintain advocacy data, assist with communications, and help ensure operational processes run smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and interested in developing expertise in customer advocacy and customer marketing operations.


 


Core Responsibilities


Customer Reference & Referral Support



  • Support the intake, tracking, and fulfillment of customer reference requests from Sales and BDR teams.

  • Coordinate reference activities, including scheduling customer calls, preparing documentation, and communicating status updates.

  • Assist with customer referral processing, routing, follow-up, and documentation.

  • Support customer reference, referral, and peer review outreach campaigns.

  • Ensure requests are completed accurately and within established timelines, escalating prioritization questions or exceptions as needed.


Customer Advocacy Data & Systems



  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer advocate records within advocacy systems and tools.

  • Update customer profiles, use cases, participation history, permissions, and preferences.

  • Conduct routine data reviews to help ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Support tagging, segmentation, and ongoing maintenance of advocacy databases.

  • Identify and escalate data issues or inconsistencies.


Program Operations



  • Support day-to-day operational workflows across customer references, referrals, and advocate communications.

  • Maintain process documentation, program materials, and tracking resources.

  • Assist with program reporting and other administrative activities.

  • Identify potential process improvements and escalate recommendations to Customer Marketing Managers.

  • Support user adoption and training for customer advocacy tools and systems.


Customer Advocate Experience



  • Support communications with customer advocates participating in reference and referral activities.

  • Coordinate scheduling, confirmations, reminders, and follow-up communications.

  • Help deliver a positive, professional, and consistent experience for customer advocates.

  • Escalate customer questions, concerns, or special requests to Customer Marketing Managers.

  • Support ongoing customer engagement activities and advocacy programs.


Success Measures


Success in this role will be measured by:



  • Timely and accurate fulfillment of customer reference and referral requests.

  • Accuracy and completeness of customer advocacy data and documentation.

  • Consistent execution of established processes and service-level expectations.

  • High-quality communication with customer advocates and internal stakeholders.

  • Effective collaboration with Customer Marketing Managers and cross-functional partners.

  • Reliable execution of program operations and administrative responsibilities.


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

  • 1+ years of experience in customer marketing, customer success, sales support, marketing operations, or program coordination

  • Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple requests and deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience supporting internal stakeholders and/or customers

  • Experience maintaining accurate customer, program, or operational data


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience supporting customer advocacy, reference, referral, or customer marketing programs

  • Experience in a B2B SaaS or technology environment

  • Experience with CRM, customer advocacy, or marketing automation tools

  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, or Customer Success

The pay range for this position is $51,600 to $74,200. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
