Position Summary

The Cut Technician is responsible for accurately cutting and preparing raw materials—such as metal tubing, rods, and fittings—according to engineering drawings, specifications, and production schedules. This role ensures precision, consistency, and traceability in all materials used for aircraft component manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate cutting equipment including saws, tube cutters, and automated cutting machines.


• Interpret blueprints, work orders, and cut lists to determine cutting requirements.


• Measure, mark, and verify material dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.


• Maintain accurate identification and traceability of materials per aerospace quality requirements.


• Inspect cuts for quality, burrs, and dimensional accuracy before releasing to next operation.


• Perform basic machine maintenance and ensure proper tool setup and calibration.


• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.


• Record material usage and update production logs or ERP system as required.


• Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to resolve any material or dimensional discrepancies.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).


• 1+ year experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.


• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurement tools.


• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.


• Basic computer literacy for data entry and documentation.

Preferred:

• Aerospace or precision manufacturing experience.


• Familiarity with cutting stainless steel, titanium, or Inconel tubing.


• Experience with CNC or semi-automated cutting equipment.


• Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials up to 50 lbs.


• Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision cutting and measurement.
