As a Cut to Length Helper with Ryerson, you will play a key role in the organization’s efficient operation ensuring that goals are met surrounding safety, productivity, quality, and on-time delivery providing a great customer experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates various production processing lines including Temper Mill/Cut to Length Line, Automatic Packaging Line, Plasma Cutter, Laser Cutting Line and Press Brake Forming Line in a team environment setting


• Produces quality products to customer specifications


• Identifies non-conforming materials


• Maintains daily production KPI goals


• Performs data entry for processed fulfilled orders


• Operates Forklifts, Electric Overhead Cranes and Warehouse Tractor


• Maintains housekeeping in work area

Requirements

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment – evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills


• Ability to navigate on a computer to find information, enter information when prompted, print, search the web, use email, and manage a calendar, as necessary


• Must be willing to learn, admit when something is unclear, and ask for guidance


• Ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, mobility, and lifting


• Ability to work assigned overtime, at times with short notice


• Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding

Salary: $23.59 hourly. A starting salary higher than $23.59 hourly is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
