Caesars Entertainment is seeking a motivated Data Protection Engineer to support the Cybersecurity Data Protection program. This role assists with the implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of data protection capabilities used to identify, classify, monitor, and protect sensitive data across the enterprise.
The Engineer will work under the guidance of Lead and Principal Data Protection Engineers to support Microsoft M365 security controls, data loss prevention technologies, data discovery and classification activities, incident support, reporting, and compliance-related evidence collection.
This is an execution-focused engineering role intended for a developing data protection professional who can operate in a complex enterprise environment, follow established standards, document work clearly, and grow into broader technical ownership over time.
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
2–4 years of experience in enterprise technology, cybersecurity, infrastructure, systems administration, or a related technical role.
1–2+ years of exposure to data protection, DLP, information security, Microsoft 365 security, compliance, or related technologies.
Working knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, data handling practices, and sensitive data protection principles.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, endpoint security, data classification, or DLP concepts.
Ability to follow documented procedures and operate within defined change, incident, and escalation processes.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a complex enterprise environment with changing priorities.
Preferred
Exposure to data loss prevention, data discovery/classification, SIEM, endpoint security, or cloud security platforms.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, NIST, or similar standards.
Experience supporting audit evidence collection, operational reporting, or security metrics.
Basic scripting, automation, or data analysis experience.
Microsoft security, cybersecurity, or cloud-related certifications preferred but not required.
