Data Center Support Engineer

The Role
Nebius is seeking a Data Center Support Engineer to support large scale AI and GPU infrastructure environments. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining production infrastructure across networking, compute, storage, and transport systems within hyperscale data center operations. It will serve as a senior technical escalation point within our data center operations. This role sits above entry level and mid level technicians and is designed for an engineer who thrives in bare metal environments, has strong troubleshooting instincts, and can operate as a true “jack-of-all-trades” across hardware, networking, and systems. 

The ideal candidate brings experience supporting complex distributed infrastructure environments and demonstrates strong operational troubleshooting skills across hardware, networking, Linux systems, and data center infrastructure.

This position requires strong collaboration across infrastructure, network engineering, systems engineering, and operations teams to maintain reliability and operational excellence in mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities:

• Support production infrastructure across compute, storage, networking, and transport layers


• Troubleshoot complex operational and infrastructure issues in large-scale distributed environments


• Perform hardware replacement, break/fix, diagnostics, and infrastructure maintenance activities


• Support switches, servers, optics, cabling, and related data center infrastructure components


• Troubleshoot Linux-based systems and infrastructure services in production environments


• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and operational recovery activities


• Execute maintenance activities and infrastructure upgrades with minimal production impact


• Work cross-functionally with network, systems, and engineering teams during operational events


• Identify recurring operational issues and contribute to long-term reliability improvements


• Support high-availability infrastructure environments with strong operational discipline


• Participate in on-call and after-hours operational support rotations as needed


• Maintain operational documentation, procedures, and escalation records


• Assist with deployment and expansion of GPU, AI, and high-performance compute infrastructure

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience supporting data center, cloud, or infrastructure operations environments


• Experience troubleshooting large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems environments


• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, Linux systems, networking, and infrastructure operations


• Experience supporting production environments with high uptime and operational reliability requirements


• Familiarity with enterprise or cloud networking technologies and troubleshooting concepts


• Experience working with network platforms such as Arista, Cisco, Juniper, or similar


• Understanding of routing, switching, optics, cabling, and physical infrastructure concepts


• Experience performing hardware diagnostics, replacement, and infrastructure maintenance activities


• Ability to troubleshoot across multiple infrastructure layers including compute, storage, and networking


• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional operational teams


• Comfortable operating in fast-paced production environments with changing priorities

Preferred Experience:

• Experience supporting hyperscale, cloud-scale, or large distributed infrastructure environments


• Experience supporting GPU, HPC, or AI infrastructure environments


• Familiarity with InfiniBand, RoCE, MPO/MTP fiber, or high-speed transport networks


• Experience with Linux administration and operational troubleshooting at scale


• Experience with automation or scripting tools such as Python, Terraform, Ansible, or Bash


• Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and operational tooling


• Experience supporting clustered compute or high-performance storage environments


• Knowledge of infrastructure reliability, operational readiness, and incident management practices


• Experience working in 24/7 operational support environments
