Data Technician (226 Days)

• Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. Equivalency).
• 2 plus years in direct experience in data entry/processing in an organization specializing in customer support or in a technology field. 
• Demonstrated work experience in data processing or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and successfully resolve task-related problems with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated knowledge of MS Windows and standard office tools such as Word, Excel and Access.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Student Information Systems.
• Willingness to learn new skills and take on challenges.

Provide direct customer support along with data quality assurance with the development and implementation of the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) and Core Collection software and data collections as required by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

• Provide direct guidance and assistance to campuses and district central staff.
• Work closely with business users to resolve ongoing functional issues, including UID and Enrollment Tracking research and reports.
• Mentor other personnel on problem analysis and resolution, including the resolution of student duplicate ID numbers.
• Research and resolve difficult and complex data problems regarding confidential information.
• Establish quality assurance policies in accordance with best practices and benchmarks to maintain district student data on the Texas Student Data System’s (TSDS) Unique ID (UID) and Enrollment Tracking databases.
• Analyze and identify trends in issue reporting and devise preventative solutions.
• Receive and process State Reporting forms and application requests.
• Assist with the PEIMS data review process; assemble, receive and review packets.
• Assist specifically with Core Collection data issues.
• Assist in testing and documenting new applications, features, functions and reports.
• Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
