Deli-Bak Mdsg/Murray Chs Setup Spec

Assist in the setup of Murray’s Cheese shops across the enterprise. Deliver associate training in the development and delivery of industry leading merchandising, interactive customer service, cheese knowledge, and operations. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

• Model “Customer 1st” behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
• Support the setup of all Murray’s Cheese Shops across the enterprise, including assistance and supervision on: building, training and development, and integration of Murray’s customer service with the Kroger/Fred Meyer customer shopping experience
• Assist store teams in creating an environment of outgoing, personal, and theatrical cheese retailing that mirrors the unique Murray’s shopping experience
• Train all Murray’s Cheese staff to drive sales through the unique Murray’s experience: education, superior customer service, effective cross-selling, merchandising, and promoting designated products
• Assist the Murray’s Cheese shop in creating an organized and structured work environment that emphasizes great customer service and education as a means to increase profits
• Implement systems that educate cheese shops in proper ordering, merchandising, customer and staff education, paperwork, and product handling
• Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products
• Provide support to verify proper staffing levels are achieved when opening a Murray’s Cheese Shop
• Manage a high level of communication with Division Merchandising Teams, Store Teams, Regional Management and Murray’s Team

Minimum

• Bachelor’s degree (BA) plus one-two years Culinary Arts or cheese experience, or experience in retail management, or combination of relevant education and experience.
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Ability to pass drug test
• Excellent skills using Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong leadership/training skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Strategic analysis/problem solving skills
• Ability to travel independently: up to five days a week
• Due to the needs of the business, the job requires a minimum three-year commitment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work weekends on a frequent basis
• Ability to continue education
• Valid driver’s license

Desired 

• Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure
• Knowledge of imported and domestic cheese varieties, their flavor profiles and how they are made
• Knowledge of industry trends in specialty cheeses
• Strong merchandising skills
• Developing a level of expertise in presentation skills
